Yippee! Welcome to the second ever blog post in the history of this website. I've got approximately an hour (actually seventeen minutes less than that) to write a wonderful group of words, although interruption seems inevitable. Yup. Inevitable.

Regardless, today I'm going to ramble a tad about some more of my favorite media and perhaps delve into some more "deep thinking"-style stuff for those of you who get a kick out of that. However, this will mostly be a stream-of-consciousness thing. OH WAIT! I forgot! This is my accountability blog!

TA-DA! By the way, that was the most disrespectul pseudocode I've ever written. Hee-haw. Suddenly, I feel beleaguered.

LET'S GET TO IT DADHUGGERS!

ahem

The Post Officiundum

So! Media that I like to consume with my eyes and brain... Well, my favorite book series at the moment is The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir. Talk about a cool name! (The author, but the series too). The first installamente in this series is the LOVELY Gideon the Ninth. My gosh, how amazing this book was... I can barely remember it because I read it almost three years ago, when the world had just been born. I went for two years without reading the second book, although not for lack of interest-- argh em dashes don't work, I have to use the stupid emoji window— there we go— anyway, I found Harrow the Ninth in the library on campus. WHAT? my brain proclaimed, tearing through the general haze that surrounded my browsings through any academic-focused library, THAT'S AWESOME! And I read my first primarily second-person book. Actually, that's a lie. The first book I read that was told from the second-person perspective was a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book about a shipwrecked crew. And then one about some guy in space who had a crush. Regardless, Harrow the Ninth was FANTASTIC and so far, Nona the Ninth lives up to the last two in terms of sheer unorthodocity alone (that's not a word, don't use it near somebody who respects the English langauge). Soo. If you like necromancy, sci-fi, a near-surreal experience while reading, and characters who will actively pursue love-hate relationships with you, pick up Gideon the Ninth.

On a similar note, I love Warhammer 40K. My interest is primarily limited to superficial lore and the general vibes collected from reading quotes from Roboute Guilliman & Co. I have much less to say about this one aside from the fact that a very... hmm, what's the word I'm looking for... corrupted version of the Iron Litany has helped me through many a physically painful moment. Jogging, for example, or having hands so cold they start to cramp because you can't tell if you're holding something firm enough. Funny how that works. Anyway, Warhammer 40K is a big favorite for me.

Another one of my favorite medias of all time is the series Arcane. If you haven't watched it, that's considered

HERESY

of the highest order. Oops, mixed up my fandoms there, sorry (hehe, not sorry). Regardless, Arcane is certainly my favorite series and continually rotates in and out of my "favorite consumable" spot. My favorite character is Vi, my second-favorite character is Caitlyn, and my favorite meme is the twink fella. I prefer the first season to the second, but I practically worship the creators for choosing to end it at least semi-happily. No dead people who I really cared about (aside from Jinx, that was HORRIBLE).

And Now For Something Completely Different!

She-ra and the Princesses of Power. Every time I tell somebody I like that show I get all giggly for some reason. Probably because it's SO CUTE!!!! Another of my favorites is Nimona. I've never heard anybody else talking about this movie, but OH MY GOD it's the best in the world. My favorite movie by leaps and bounds.

Now, I must have some redeeming qualities for those who expect a more philosophical approach to art... ah, yes, I appreciate Inception. Who doesn't? Tis a masterpiece. That's all you hugging art critics get.

My TO BE CONSUMED

Like a TBR, but for all kinds of media!

  • Sabriel. A book by Garth Nix with some necromancy! Hopefully I love it.
  • Pantheon. Netflix series that seems interesting.
  • Breaking Legacies. By Zoe Reed.

And that brings me to a final favorite! My time's running out, so I'll tell you quickly: Charon Docks at Daylight by Zoe Reed. My first dip into zombie apocalypse stories and I've never looked back. It was PHENOMENAL, not because it was perfect, but because it was imperfect and it still made me quietly die inside for a couple of days. In a good way, in a good way! I died of joy.

I would be amiss if I did not include some word about my self-improvement endeavors, so I will say here: I had a burger today. I failed. And for that, I am not any less loved or any more evil. I mean, I am pretty evil, but a single double cheeseburger is not going to impact that particular score. The point of this little paragraph is to drive hone the fact that it's OKAY to fail! Failure teaches you valuable lessoons. Tomorrow, I'll feel gross. I'll remember that burgers do not, in fact, make me feel good later. And I will learn.

Eventually. Hopefully.

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY—actually, I'm going to make up something new every time for this header text. YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL! I MEAN IT!

much love and peaceful wishes!
