me: I HAVE COMPLETED THE PROCEDURE OF DECIPHERING A MANUSCRIPT INDIVIDUATED BY THE NAME "NONA THE NINTH"!
you: Oh, was it painful?
me: Very.
At long last, I have finished Nona the Ninth! The narrator (Moira Quirk) was PHENOMENAL. The characters were amazing, the twists were cunning, and the ending left me cursing in confusion for at least fifteen minutes straight. Overall, highly recommend all three books in the series, but oh my goodness if they don't leave every bit of exposition to context and subtext. Honestly, it's one of the reasons I love the series so much. The first book, you think you understand most of what's going on. The second book makes you question the meaning of the universe. The third book makes you not care about anything except Nona, no matter how confusing any of it is. I can hardly wait for the fourth book, which was supposed to get released in 2023 but was delayed due to creative dissatisfaction, if my research was correct. Hopefully it gets published soon! I am dying to know exactly what happened in the epilogue of the last book.
Speaking of which, I am going to begin working on a really huge and brainpower-coonsuming project that may not see the light of day for decades (also known as another one of my hobbies, or just something I'm toying with in my mind). That project is some kind of presentation or report outlining what actually happened over the course of books of The Locked Tomb. We're talking INTENSE nerding out over here. As in, trying to distinguish thanergy from thalergy, or whatever they're called. Forgive me. Audio makes it hard to parse spelling. Regardless. I'm going to undertake this colossal monolith of a project sometime in the next ten years if somebody hasn't already done it by then. In other words, I think it would be cool and I'm considering it. Don't get too excited.
Another thing: I'm supposed to be studying for a Biology exam I have the day after tomorrow! And I haven't studied for it!
...
*incoherent screaming in the background, followed by explosions and the sound of glass breaking*
Ahem. Where was I?
Oh yes! I can't wait for the end of the semester! I've been shoving my vampiric tendencies into the basement for a whole four months, which gets a little tiring. Although, I do have a schedule planned out that is effective immediately after school ends, so... yea. That will have be training 5 hours a day and eating scraps that are considered "healthy" and do not quite cover the nutrient profile I was going for when I asked AI for hyper-portable meals. Regardless, I'm sure I can find a cheap burger place! Maybe. Optimistically speaking.
Now, for a personal interest I'd like to promote on my wonderful, far-reaching platform:
sarcasm (period)
*sigh* Oh, the joy of it. Rather meta, if you think about it. Regardless, I enjoy the occasional sarcastic remark, especially when it's biting and incredibly unhelpful. Of course, I only ever enjoy making them, although I can appreciate a well-crafted "snide remark" when I see one. Perfunctory sarcasm, though, I have no respect for. If it doesn't take effort to say, why say it?
Although, that is a bit hypocritical of me. My favorite philosophy: Instead of asking why, ask why not. I think it helps you move out of your comfort zone, and if you actually ask the question, it can help steer you away from stupid decisions. For example: "Why not border the windshield of my car with snails?"
...
Aw, man.
Anyways, this hopefully made up for my sickly blog last week. Reading it was truly a drag once I'd recovered, and I wanted to give a little more effort to this one, as much as "sitting in front of a glowing square and moving your fingers in apparently random patterns" counts as effort. I've got a Bio exam to study for, a bus to catch, and a enormous project to undertake. See ya later!
YOU CAN BECOME A BRAND-NEW PERSON EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK!
much love and peaceful wishes!
